Artist Statement & Bio
Marcie Couet is a visual artist and author from Indiana who began her artistic journey later in life. Inspired by the mystery of the creative act, her work is a playful exploration of contrast, harmony and interest.
Her paintings are found in homes across the United States, as well as in businesses and nonprofits. Marcie's work has been featured at New Quantum Gallery, Carmel Art on Main, High Frequency Arts Gallery, and Mindset on Maple by Business Furniture + Choreo.
Her painting "Dublin" won the People’s Choice Award at the SALI National Abstract Art Show in 2023, and she received an Indiana Arts Commission Grant for 2022-23. Her nonfiction book Lovers of God and Garden was released in the Fall of 2024.
